The big Republican confab in Memphis this week produced several notable moments. Among them, we saw John McCain publicly, and
very firmly, attach his lips to Bush's ass. Nothing new here, so let's move along....
We also saw this group of like-minded fools, give a majority of their straw-poll votes to one of the most lamentable politicians in the nation right now (Bill Frist), and this, despite the fact he is under investigation for possible ethics and corruption violations. No surprises here either.
But the one that took the cake, was reading the comments of some of the attendees. More after the fold (you don't want to miss this!)
Upon reading the following comment, gleaned from a Reuters article on
Yahoo News right now, I nearly fell out of my chair. With all this nation has been through because of Republican lies, deceit, corruption, and gross malfeasance, it appears there are still plenty that would like to see status quo.
Comes a Republican "activist" by the name of Craig Capehart, from Dallas, Texas (where else?), who was quoted as saying:
"I'm for any Republican who can get elected. It would be nice if they also had policies that would be good for the country."
Now, read that again, just to make sure it sinks in. What this fucktard/idiot/traitor is saying, is that despite ANYTHING, despite the corruption, the lies, the debt, the war, and all the rest, he wants a Republican for president, country be damned, even if this candidate has policies that were/are bad for the country (and where is there even one Republican that has policies that are good for this country?)
As we have learned over the last ten years or so, the ranks of the Republican Party is filled people like Mr. Capehart, to this nation's great detriment. People like Mr. Capehart are fully willing to sell our nation down the tubes, put it in mortal danger, and indenture our children to a life of debt and fascism, all so they can have Republicans controlling this country.
Now I ask you, is this not the very definition of treason? It's way past time we took off the gloves with these people, and started calling them what they are: t-r-a-i-t-o-r-s. Nothing more, nothing less. That is the battle for us. It is us, against people who would think nothing of betraying this nation and its people, to keep their hold on power. For those of us who love this country, the battle lines are clear.
